This fourth season of Fringe I think, is, as a return to origins, in a different way, a different world. As if we were to rewrite the whole story, told so far. Based on this, I could almost say that these three seasons were, in my opinion, the first part of the whole work Fringe. Having, as "background", the actions of ZFT, Peter's encounter with Olivia, and therefore the meeting of these two with Walter, the discovery of a parallel universe, the implications in this regard, the issues of passion between the characters, settings and themes of science replacements edge, as a major element of the presentation and development plots, also in conjunction with this, the novel Peter and Olivia and the placement of "Walter's lab," as if it were a representative icon of the Fringe team. Then came scenes of both worlds, with their opposing realities, but similar, their interactions, their struggles, and finally a "first" outcome, with Peter clinging to WSD, and with it, traveling with his conscience the future, by the year 2026, where he met the result of your gift. And after all that, as an ultimate, your back, where he is "summarily" erased from reality that is now forming.
I see the fourth season, which is now starting, like a beginning of the second part of the story of Fringe. A new world appears, and it never existed Peter. Those who know the first part in the initial three seasons, there physically, but with slightly different personalities, and, initially, without a major character, who is Peter. As I said the elements and people are the same, but everything is a little different, is another reality, another sensory world is without a doubt. Our feelings and choices, as assistants of Fringe, have one or more twists. Walter does not seem to be more "our" Walter, Olivia, appears to be cold, distant, just think of her work, as an FBI agent, is (seems) a lonely, half "bitter", the Astrid became only a laboratory assistant, a support person (at least for now), and also beside that, we have the inclusion (very good) agent Lincoln, and so on. This "new world" has, in my opinion, a big factor missing, which is love. Yes, for me, this new reality is no love, no larger goals, emotional without those incentives, we had earlier in the "first part" of Fringe, no doubt, I think so.
But I think it's out there, things will gradually take their seats. Peter is back. And with him, something that we call "balances” the emotional part of Fringe. Peter knows everything, I think. Knows everything that happened, you know the implications and difficulties of their present, and has a real sense of its likely future, that he, with propriety, may change with the passage of the shares. The important item Love presumes, that should go back, also with the arrival of Peter. To me, Peter is the master key, this 4th season. With it will align and reorganize the actions of Fringe. And with that, there is the beginning of the "second part" of the stories being told of the plight of Fringe. So, I think.
